Lawrenceburg's holiday season doesn't open with a festival. It opens tomorrow night with something the Public Square already does every month. Final Friday on October 30 runs from 5 to 8 p.m. Downtown shops stay open late with sales and events, according to the Lawrence County Chamber of Commerce event listing. The season ends on the same square five weeks later, when the tree lighting and the 71st Lawrence County Christmas Parade fill the first Saturday evening in December.
In between are a two-day market a short drive up North Military Avenue and a second Final Friday. That second one lands on the day after Thanksgiving. Taken together, the calendar is mostly downtown's normal monthly rhythm, lined up with the holidays.
Final Friday is the simplest event on the list. You don't buy a ticket or register, and there's no main stage. Shops around the square keep their doors open until 8 p.m. The Chamber's calendar describes it as "an evening of shopping, sales, and events" and invites people to "come explore and support our local businesses."
These eleven downtown businesses are listed as participants for October 30:
The list covers clothing, antiques, art, baked goods, pet items and paper goods. For anyone starting a holiday list early, that's a lot of range within walking distance of the courthouse square. The listing gives the location as Downtown Lawrenceburg at Public Square. Downtown Lawrenceburg describes itself as a nonprofit that follows the National Main Street Center's Four Point approach. It says the town has been a nationally accredited Main Street community since 1989.
This year Final Friday falls on the night before Halloween, but the 2026 listing doesn't mention a costume or trick-or-treat tie-in. Plan on a shopping night.
The square also has some new faces since last winter. In its July business recap, the Chamber reported that Baked Jess Wright opened a storefront just off the Public Square after years of selling custom baked goods. Blue Haven Formals describes itself as a bridal and prom boutique on Lawrenceburg's historic square. The Chamber reported its ribbon cutting in June. Neither one is on the October Final Friday list, but both are steps from the stores that are.
The second stop is the only one away from the square. Merry Market runs at Rotary Park, 927 North Military Avenue, on two days, according to the event listing on the county tourism calendar:
| Day | Date | Hours |
|---|---|---|
| Friday | November 6 | 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. |
| Saturday | November 7 | 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. |
The listing names the Lawrenceburg Rotary Club. It says vendors are handpicked and that the lineup covers food, fashion, home decor "and so much more."
The Friday hours match Final Friday exactly: 5 to 8 p.m. If you liked browsing the square after work on October 30, the first Friday in November offers the same window in a different spot. The Saturday daytime session suits anyone who would rather shop in daylight or bring kids before supper.
This is where the timing matters. The Chamber calendar lists the next Final Friday for November 27, 5 to 8 p.m. Thanksgiving 2026 falls on Thursday, November 26. So downtown's regular end-of-month late night opens on the Friday after Thanksgiving, which most stores treat as the busiest shopping day of the year.
Nothing about the event was moved to make that happen. "Final Friday" means the last Friday of the month, and this year that's the day after the holiday. For a household with relatives in town, the evening fills a gap. It's a few hours on the square once the leftovers are put away, with the same local shops that hosted the October night.
The listing doesn't advertise extra Black Friday promotions, and individual stores set their own sales. If there's something particular you're after, a call to the shop that week is the surest way to know what it will have.
The same date matters if you're putting a float in the parade. The Chamber's event page gives two registration deadlines, November 20 and November 27. The Chamber's parade announcement sets business and advertising entries at $45, with a $25 late fee after November 20. That means a church group or business can tour the square on the 27th while the final entry deadline is still open.
The season ends with the biggest night downtown has all year. The Lawrence County Chamber of Commerce has set the 71st Annual Lawrence County Christmas Parade for Saturday, December 5, 2026, at 5 p.m. in downtown Lawrenceburg. The rain date is Sunday, December 6, at 5 p.m. This year's theme is "Gingerbread Village." The Chamber's announcement invites floats "inspired by charming gingerbread houses, candy-covered streets, and everything that makes a Gingerbread Village a Christmas tradition." Loretto Telecom is the presenting sponsor.
Lawrence County Government's events page lays out the usual order for the evening. It begins with the City of Lawrenceburg's tree lighting ceremony at 4:30 p.m., followed by the parade at 5. The county describes that schedule as the yearly pattern for the first Saturday evening in December, so expect the tree lighting about half an hour before the floats. The same page lays out the route:
The county says the parade draws more than ninety entries, including floats, bands, antique cars, tractors, youth groups, and Santa and Mrs. Claus. It calls the parade one of the largest in southern Middle Tennessee. Because the route circles the square, the storefronts from the Final Friday list frame the parade itself. You'll pass those same shops while finding a spot along the curb.
One note on timing. The Chamber's separate event detail page shows a couple of different times, but its press release gives 5 p.m. as the parade start. If you're bringing small children or setting up chairs early, the Chamber can confirm the details at 931-762-4911.
Here's the whole stretch in order, from tomorrow night to the first weekend of December:
| Date | Event | Where | Time |
|---|---|---|---|
| Fri., Oct. 30 | Final Friday | Downtown Lawrenceburg, Public Square | 5 to 8 p.m. |
| Fri., Nov. 6 | Merry Market | Rotary Park, 927 N. Military Ave. | 5 to 8 p.m. |
| Sat., Nov. 7 | Merry Market | Rotary Park, 927 N. Military Ave. | 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. |
| Fri., Nov. 20 | Parade registration deadline, late fee applies after | Lawrence County Chamber | n/a |
| Fri., Nov. 27 | Final Friday, the day after Thanksgiving | Downtown Lawrenceburg, Public Square | 5 to 8 p.m. |
| Sat., Dec. 5 | City tree lighting, then the 71st Christmas Parade | North Military Ave. and First St., around the square | 4:30 p.m. lighting, 5 p.m. parade |
| Sun., Dec. 6 | Parade rain date | Downtown Lawrenceburg | 5 p.m. |
Three of the four Friday or Saturday evenings on that list end at the square or pass through it. The one exception, Merry Market, keeps the same 5-to-8 Friday hours. The order is easy to remember: late shopping tomorrow, the Rotary market the next weekend, the square again after Thanksgiving, and the tree lighting and gingerbread floats on December 5.
